Nigeria!
My father's land
A land filled with thousands of beauties
Giant of Africa, unable to stand
Fed with pain and cruelty.
Will things ever change for good?

Are we independent at sixty?
Like a child, my nation is dependent
And lost her transparency and tranquility.
Will things ever change for good?

Things will change like a soothsayer will say
People sleep and wake up in deceit
Leaders have gone astray
Like a blow in the face, the truth hits
And many mouths cannot say
Will things ever change for good?

They swim in the pool of corruption
They turn deaf ears to our plea
Thousands of frustrations lead to disruption
Innocent bloods their daily tea
Will things ever change for good?

Economic development slowly slows down
Dreams in millions have drowned
People are wailing
But the Godfathers are sailing
Will things ever change for good?

We dance to the beat of terror
We sing songs of sorrow
We hope for a better tomorrow
Where we will live in peace and no horror
