Why are Nigerian Mechanics special creations from Hell? I seriously do not know who is reading this, but if you are a Nigerian and you don't have a bad experience or once fought with your mechanic, then you should be given a Nobel Peace Prize.

I remember Mr Kasali the Meko like the back of my hand. Oga Meko who increased our blood pressure, made us panic, and nearly missed my brother's wedding.

I remember I told my brother 'never trust a mechanic especially the one with a workplace in Ladipo' but my professional opinion fell on deaf ears.

We took our small Benz to his work station on a faithful Sunday – a week to my sister's wedding. Mr Meko was to deliver the car on Wednesday depending on the workload to be done.

When Wednesday came, he gave a flimsy excuse that the car battery is 'leaking oil', that the car would have to still be in his place till Friday morning — A car that we sent in for just a routine checkup now has it battery leaking oil and its bumper making noise.

We waited for his call and presence all through Friday but Mr Meko kept on telling us he was almost done with the car and we will see him soon in our compound.

People of the Lord, Friday evening till Saturday Mr Meko did not show up. We had to take a last-minute bus from Lagos to Ikare in Ekiti state on Saturday evening for a wedding slated the next day morning.

We even had a minor accident on the way because the bridegroom was dozing and almost fell out of the moving bus when the door latch gave way suddenly.

He hit his head on the door frame and we had to branch a clinic that Sunday morning when he was supposed to be in church saying 'I Do'.

My brother did wedding with a plaster on his forehead. But what was more painful was the fact that people claimed they saw my brother's car at Quilox with the same plate number.

Our Meko truly went to 'ball' in a club with our own Benz almost making us miss a wedding. Till date when I see my brother's wedding photos and how the plaster made him looked like an Escapee from hospital, I remember Mr Meko.
