I was deeply engrossed with my book on Tuesday noon after I came back form school then I heard the sonorous advertising voice of this snacks seller filtering into my eardrums.

And I couldn't believed my impatient to wait for her to come near my hostel, so I quickly checked in to my room to pick up some cash so as to get a doughnut.

At the long run, I got the doughnut and I went in to drop it on the table. Immediately, I realized I needed to change the money on me to a lower note because of unforseen needs of it.

So, I told the woman, please to wait for me, I wanted to change this money on me to a lower note. And in between that short moment and conversation with her, I heard her advertised more than three times and that arose my curiosity to ask her a particular question that birthed the heading of this write up.

Me: why do you have to advertise other snacks that you didn't have here with you?

She: That's my slang!

Me: Slang? Slang in business🤔🤔🤔

She: Yes! If I should stop advertising other snacks, I'll lose my customers for today, more so, I'm letting them to know that their favourite snacks seller is around.

Me: Wow! That's great.

As there are lots of morals to learn in the story I'll try and simplify my intended thought and lesson to be learnt for our dear young men and women in the kingdom and in business.

My friend, Isaacsogo said, "God can't meet you at Damascus and leave you the same! The kingdom language becomes your language".

Let me quickly simplify the woman's thought by saying that's my slang.

Her slang is part of her hallmark.

Merriam Webster dictionary defines hallmark as the quality, ability, a distinguish characteristic, trait or feature etc., that is typical of a particular person or thing.

Most times, I wonder how those uneducated business men and women thrives in business even to make us get things we don't plan to buy at times in the market place. They even thrive more than our dear young educated businessman and businesswoman.

Let me quickly lay this premise for better understanding.

Sometimes, you'll hear those woman using some compelling - endearing slangs like (Bab'oko mi dakun semi lowo, don't let me go hungry at night abbl...) that will force our hand to bring out that money we didn't want to spend. 🤗🤗🤗

Then I realized that, some of the slangs and the endearing words they chose and adopted has a way of appealing to the customer's emotion to buy that unplanned commodity.

Now, rationalize and say that, the secret behind their thriving is the slang and language they've built and adopted in the time past...

Her slang is out of her consistency.

Consistency is doing well at all the time and not sometimes. It is the alignment between a person's convictions and his/her behavior that makes his/her life persuasive. And there lies the key to sustain influence.

Consistency establishes one's reputation. It birth relevancy of each individuals and maintains the message (s)he is preaching.

"Apparently, anyone can be good for once but being good is difficult. It takes continuity of good deeds. However, a continued repetition of good deeds leads to a positive reputation".

Your slang/language in business will tell if you'll lose your customers or you'll retain them.

The question is that, as a businessman or businesswoman, how many compelling - endearing slang do you have and know in business?

Now, if the salvation we professed doesn't change our slang/language, then it needs a check. We can't be birth into the kingdom and not be used to the kingdom's slang/language.

One of those things that must consistently experience a change in our life is the dramatic change in your mindset which will eventually influence your speech.

A lots of young folks are busy speaking in tongues in the church but outside the building, their words are hash and rash.

A Christian has just a slang/language and that's the language of the Bible!

But since the Bible has become your enemy, how will you be able to say the slang/language that that draws the attention of the King and the cabinet of the kingdom.

If you're a teenager, how serious minded are you both with God and your future? How many kingdom slang/language do you know?

If you're an adult, how balanced is your life to the extent that we can count on you as indeed a potential adult.

Shalom
