CONCESSION TO DEPRESSION OR DEEP EXPRESSION?

Before dipping your head into the lagoon in your thigh, read through this.

Some months ago, I received a call that my best friend commited suicide, and immediately I became sober and perplexed because of the "means" of his death. It became impossible for me to hold back the drops of tears that fell on my face because of how tragic and sudden the death of my friend was.

How could the most kindhearted being I have ever met on planet earth died of suicide?  I was unable to answer the question until I found a letter in his room.

Immediately, I picked up the letter and after reading it, tears flooded my face.

He wrote, " I have always been living next to hell but no one saw and care for me.

Then dipping my head into my thigh in the secret became order of the day and served as a means to give an essoin out of this world.

The lagoon in my thigh served  to me as a '4G' mirror to see people from the next city (hell) Starring at me with sets of tooth perfect for closeup advert.

With that, I was thinking they had found their rest and have all days to smile. I climbed higher and higher with death filtering through my mind, thinking it is always cheap and quick to transcend to their world.

And a "strange voice" sounded to me, whispering to my ears... "wow! Don't you consider that as an invitation to the world where they have all days to smile and rest, won't you love to join them"?

I almost cessioned and honor the invitation, then another strong and audible voice within me replied furiously with my head straight up saying No! No! No, I have more reasons to live and smile here too" .

However, I'm yielding to the first voice here today, bye till we meet again".

That was what Topson wrote in the letter. I could even felt his pain while reading because the letter was soaked with his tears.

I wish I had read that before he took his life and cession it to depression. Though it was difficult for me to figure because of the smiling face he always put on, smiles that can even make man fall in love with him.

And now, I can't make it up to him again or better still, if there is a way to make it up to a dead being I would love you to share with me.

Topson was one of the few persons that has influenced my life positively. "Going Out of his way is always his way to help people".

He was a great motivation to a lot of people around. I couldn't imaging it when Topson lost his parents and studentship within some months just because he wanted to help someone we met a year ago.

Topson never saw any reason for living than putting smile on people's face, whenever he comes around with his smile, I always feel peace within.

I miss you Topson, till we meet again.

Through my journey in this part of the world, I unearthed that, there are a lot of people walking down the street of life every day with bunches and logs of issues rolling in their heads. They are really wallowing in pool of tears beyond their smiling faces.

I discovered that,
* Sometimes, that your motivator needs to be motivated too.

* Sometimes, just a minute call could save a life from depression.

* Sometimes, the smiling face of people are tears in disguise and their tears are hidden behind a bright smile.

Depression might differ from one to another, but an answer is expected of us; whether to overcome it or to yield our ground to it.

It has only two route to it, which are:

The entrance route, which only gives you reasons to exit from your own world and yield your ground to frustration and depression.

The second is the exit route, which enables you to see the other side of life and gives you reasons to live and smile in your own world.

Depression is real, oppression is real and impression is also real,  but immersion into their lagoon is optional.

Depression to me is a choice, it is a place and an experience that I can choose to make, stay, have or neglect. But In everything, I choose to have hope, to keep faith, keep love, share love and be patient while I work towards a better life.

Depression has In it two whispering strange voice which may come as a consoling voice or a suffocating one. Though the prevailed voice determines the end result!

So, don't by no means cession (yeild) to the deceit of that strange voice.

Now, here is a question before dipping your head into your thigh; have you prepared for the "strange voice" and do you know how to answer it?

Truly, depression is in degrees and it can be propelled by different factors, many things in life can immerse our head into the lagoon between our thigh, but choosing to trust in the process of time and the providential power of the Almighty God is a sure way of escaping depression rut.

The biggest mistake one would ever make which can lead him/her to depression is "begging for pity".

Self-pity takes away your joy, happiness and keeps you down. It blinds your acumen and capability to soar high. It kills your self-esteem, dims your light of salvation, and gradually make despair your bosom friend.

Instead of throwing a pity party; seek for motivation, recharge your mind for success, and take a positive steps.

Another way is willingness to open up.
People who suffer in silence rationalise and say, "nobody understands, no one can understand". But how can they understand what you are not willing to talk about?

The extent at which people can render help to us is dependent on our willingness to talk or open up for therapy.

Disciple Peter deeply expressed himself to Jesus when he was about yielding to the strong wind on the sea.

The bible recorded it that, "when he perceived and felt the strong wind, he was frightened, and as he began to sink, he cried out, Lord, save me [from death]"!

Another means is by knowing your identity.

Once I know who I am and my inheritance in God, I remain rest assured that all is well.
In case you don't know who I am, I'm a son of God, His property insured by the blood of the Lamb and protected by the Spirit of God.

Moon doesn't and will never disappear because an impenetrable dark cloud passes or covered it for some while. Never! Because it's aware of it's true identity which is "light". Often times, most people with suicidal tendencies have an identity crises.

Ability to separate yourself from an unpleasant occurrences the befalls you.

The fact that you failed doesn't make you a failure and it doesn't mean you don't have what it takes to succeed; it just means you need to do things differently next time.

Failure in not an entity, it is an occurrence that went wrong with a particular situation around you but not inside you.

"A ship doesn't get sink because of the water around it; it sinks because of the water that gushed into it".

It is not what happens to us that hurts us, but the way we responds to it. So, Stay positive! Though Staying positive is not an assurance that everything will be 'well' but a guarantee that you'll be 'well' no matter how things turns.

It is very disheartening that we get our thought deep in depression because we cannot separate our personality from the events that occur to us.

Factually, Devil sometimes will come to us with some predicament purposely to make our world crumble.

Telling us that our only means to smile is death and knowing fully that worries will set in to steal our joy.

Let me quickly say this, Worry is a pest that drains today of its strength and chew tomorrow's ability. So, worry less!

Depression is respecter of no man regardless of his status or position.

This is an assertion from the story of a small boy who had enough boldness to confront a man called the "man of Gath" (Goliath) and killed him with sling and a stone and later got depressed and distressed even after when he was anointed as a king. It disregarded him being a King and his status but King David did the most expedient thing.

1 Samuel: 30:6
"David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God".

However, I'm glad to deliver this good news to you peradventure you've not been able to caught any sense from the above lines.

There is a man who is willing and waiting for us to express ourselves deeply to Him and expose our wound to him for ointment and treatment.

And His name JESUS!

AMP 1 Peter 5:7

Tells us that we should keep Casting the whole of our care [all our anxieties, all our worries, all our concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for us affectionately and cares about us watchfully.

Confide in Him.

Shalom.
