I WISH I COULD BE BLIND!

Yes! I believe after reading this you'll know what triggered me to make such an ugly wish and will like to do the same as well.

While we were growing up, seeing a blind man along the street gave birth to this sharp and cruel judgment that they are incomplete human beings and maybe a liability to their parents or family (as the case maybe). In all, they didn't  cry because of our wrong and shallow impressions about them. Instead, they give  thanks to God for life.

One fateful day, I was privileged to be with a blind man and I was surprised how people played and dined with him. But I could not figure out the reasons behind such endearment.

Until he began saying some things that triggered me and made me wish to be blind. He said, "I'm able to see what you people cannot see".  As if he knew my thought!... Initially, my thought was that, a blind man cannot see beyond an impenetrable darkness.

Few weeks after, a friend said, "let me kuku help you make your wish come true today". Immediately, I became nervous and that was how my wish fade away.

I was unable to make it come true at that moment because of the judgments that I assumed people will pass on me. Moreover, I'm living with complete and able human beings who sincerely care for their sights.

Some minutes after, he asked " why do you wish to be blind? ". I replied, "I want to see what the blind man use to see" THE INVISIBLE!. More so, I'm tired of all that I'm exposed to... I want to be crying for mercy till I'll meet a wealthy man who will take good care of me.

He bursted into laughter. Ah ah ah ah...kikikiki. Lazy Man!.

Confidently, I replied, I am not a lazy man!. Again, I want to see the INVISIBLE and meet someone who will help and take good care of me.

Now, regardless of how ugly and stupid my wish maybe, it is based on seeing the  INVISIBLE and meet the one who will help and take good care of me.

Frequently, whenever we see people burning for Christ, we come to conclusion by saying "it is spiritual madness (wón ti gba wèrè mó èsìn ni)". Yes it is  true because seeing the INVISIBLE is beyond being  normal.

Moreover, you'll see someone who is ready to burn for Christ but focused his eyes on the "NORMAL" people around him and through this, he suppressed the zeal to burn for Christ.

I called them NORMAL people because they don't see beyond their nostrils and don't known what seeing the INVISIBLE means. You can't see the invisible and remain normal. No!

Until you're blind to wordly things and continually crying for mercy, you cannot see and behold Christ's glory! The blindness I mean is not the loss of your sight but loss of sight on every forms of distraction in following Christ.

Yes, "Opened minds are better than opened eyes"... Indirectly, "Blind minds are worse than blind eyes". We cannot see or meet Christ with a closed mind. No!

Many of us can recite (Philippians 3:10:) offhand but we do not know what it means exactly.

"That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;".

Apostle Paul cried out his heart there in the verse because he wanted to keep off his eyes on things that may distract him and focus on the INVISIBLE that he saw.

No wonder he kept asking for Grace.
He knows that, without his eyes blind on worldly things and his mind opened to God, he cannot see Christ after his death.

See what triggered him in verse 20-21.

I conclude by admonishing you to Seek Christ with an open mind!

The thrill behind my wish is this, " when my eyes are finally opened after death, what will brighten my sight will be the face and the glory of my SAVIOUR".

Don't hesitate to share with friends.

Shalom.
