“Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.” — Oprah Winfrey
Friendship is your social currency.
This year I realized that friendship is a strong relationship we all have to build as an important part of our social currency, I got a lot of paid gigs because I had friends that had true intentions towards our relationship as friends and co-workers, they were also keen that our network keeps growing not just as friends but also by improving our financial status and developing our skills set by consistently following up on old and new projects.
Lesson: Friendship should be built on trust, respect and greatly based on the fact that you are building a better social currency, this would give you leverage and bring hidden opportunities to you. You can't afford to not have true ones because it's what shapes and forms our lives in one way or the other.
