Recently, there has been a very rapid growth in the technology manufacturing industry, because there are more makers in the hardware industry. At the Hardware Nigeria Community (HNC) launch-up in Lagos at Hub360 circuits, Mr Emeka Okoye talked about how America was able to build and connect millions of makers in the hardware ecosystem.

In those days, users will always have to learn microcontroller architectures and registers before they can do any project with the controller, even most of the programming environments are not free which makes it very difficult for people to learn and start a career in embedded systems.

CloudX Blockly

The first ever microcontroller board in Africa was designed by ByteHub Embedded team at Mbed Studio Nigeria, which also comes with a microcontroller compiler called CloudX IDE v4.0, developed to fit and serve every circle of the society; to help kids (visual programming using blockly), students, hobbyists and everyone interested in creating their own projects in electronics, to bring in people with little or no programming experience into tech manufacturing industry within few days, hence, changing the way people see and use technology.

Someone invited me to build a technology he couldn’t find in the market to solve a problem in his house, on my way back home, i said to myself what if he doesn’t have someone like me, that means he won’t be able to solve his tech problems and bring his ideas to life.

CloudX was invented to give people access to create tech stuffs based on the user’s specifications. The CloudX is in no competition with the Arduino, the makers of the CloudX board only wanted to support a platform where Africans can come together to share and develop their tech ideas to form a very powerful hardware community on the continent.

Digital Clock Project with CloudX

It’s is completely opensource and users can use it for educational prototyping, IoT , Industrial automation and commercial purposes. It also comes in 8, 16 and 32 bits from beginner to advanced level.

You can learn more about cloudx on MakeElectronicsNG and Instructables.
