She asked the question again  and I couldn't just help but stare.

It's my 18th birthday for crying out loud  and instead of the usual  'happy Birthday my sweetness' like she  calls me she is asking if I'm still a virgin.

'Mum, what do you mean', as I literally don't know what to say.

'Virginity, she started, in this context is not about the hymen, you're a year older today and  you're full of potentials and talent yet to be unlocked and used .

The virginity here is the unbroken potential.

What is potential? Potentials are Dormant ability. Untapped strength. Unused success. Hidden talents. Capped capability.

Potential is not what you have done, but what you can do. Not what is, but what could be.

There's a wealth of potential within you. But you must decide if you will deprive the world or bless it with the valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within you.

To unleash these potentials, you have to

  • Go back to your source : To understand how much potential you possess, you must understand the Source from which you came.
  • You must understand how you are designed to function : Our potential cannot be released without faith and love. Fear and hatred short-circuit our potential. You can't operate in the same office with another. Study yourself like you study your body language
  • Know your purpose : Every product exists for a specific purpose. That reason is the original intent of its existence—the purpose for which it was made. Purpose birth responsibility and responsibility makes acute demand on your potentials.
  • Then work,  create, cultivate and guard your potentials, also share if the need be.

I was dumbfounded after everything mum said but I felt the driving force to act on it.

Like my mum asked me earlier, I'm throwing the question to you too, ARE YOU STILL A VIRGIN?

NB: the characters don't exist, all fiction.
